“It’s a love song for my technology actually, when it broke down once and I thought it might not come back to life.”

Personal computers and other technological tools are being integrated more and more into everyday life, and also into the creative processes of women who work with new technology. They are becoming artistic companions and creative aids that are increasingly important in the artistic sphere. While women appropriate technology to reflect on the world and to reiterate their place in it, they develop an oft-tumultuous love story with their technological tools. When technology lives up to expectations, we have only love for it. But when these tools don't work the way we want them to, we get frustrated, and our frustration quickly turns to sadness. From the computer as enigma to the computer as solution, and then from solution to a new enigma, Studio XX's women artists are constantly renewing their relationship with technology.
