L’œuvre consiste en un mini-site Web où, en cliquant sur chacun des quatre fruits représentés sur la page principale, on visionne un film d’une durée de 5 secondes. Le travail veut transmettre à son récepteur l’expérience très physique et sensuelle de déguster des fruits mûrs au soleil, par le biais d’un médium lui-même très éphémère.
En collaboration avec Dr. Mikko Karttunen du Laboratoire de génie informatique de l’Université Technologique d’Helsinki.


The work consists of a mini Web site where, upon clicking upon each of the four represented fruits on the opening page, one may view a 5-second film. The work wishes to mediate the very physical and sensual experience of savouring ripe summer fruit, from the perspective of a medium that is, itself, quite ephemeral.
In collaboration with Dr. Mikko Karttunen, Computer Engineering Laboratory at the Helsinki Technological University.


Biographie / Biography
Née 1975 à Papineauville, Québec, Sally Lee Sheeks a obtenu son baccalauréat en beaux-arts à l’Université Concordia en 1997. Suite à un séjour en Hollande (1998-1999), elle a continué ses études en Allemagne où elle a terminé sa maîtrise en beaux-arts - installation sculpturale - en 2001 à l’Université de Mainz. Elle vit et travaille actuellement à Helsinki, Finlande et est membre du Centre d’artistes MUU depuis le printemps 2002.

Born in 1975 in Papineauville, Quebec, Sally Lee Sheeks obtained her Bachelors degree in Fine Arts at Concordia University in 1997. Following a stay in Holland (1998-1999), she continued her studies in Germany, receiving a Masters degree in Fine Arts - sculptural installation - from the Mainz University in 2001. She lives and works in Helsinki, Finland, where she is also a member of the artists' centre MUU since the spring 2002.
